Big weekend of Kildare action
It's a big week for the Lilywhites. The camogie women are playing in an All Ireland Final on Saturday in Ashbourne at 2.30pm. With the club represented by Clodagh Flanagan,
Siobhan Hurley, Aoife Trant and Roisin O'Connell. Then on Sunday it's up to Croker to cheer on the footballers with Brian Flanagan and Keith Cribbin.

Hard luck to the B's who lost out by two points after they conceded two late goals. Whilst there was a great win for the C team last night on a score line 2-12 v 1-8.

Never mind standing around a mucky field in Naas next weekend, there is plenty of football to be enjoyed. Kildare are out on Saturday against Leirtrim at 7pm in Conleths
while the Bridge take on Kilcullen in the pitch Sunday also at 7pm.

Bridge to the fore in county action
The Bridge are to the fore for the county this weekend. First up the camogie women take on Westmeath in Newbridge tomorrow at 2pm.
Then we wish Keith, Flano and the Kildare senior footballers all the best in the qualifiers against Antrim up in Belfast at 7.
On Sunday the Ladies Footballers get the day off to a start in their game against Dublin in Portmarnock at 2pm, with Ash and Siobhan representing the club
and then it's a quick trip to Longford where Sean and Paul are back out with the minors at 7pm. All supporters are asked to come out in force.
Greating Scoring
Johnstownbridge had already racked up 2-2 by the seventh minute to ensure a good winning margin against Rheban last Sunday at Pairc Droicheda Baile Sheain.
The Bridge had registered a few draws of late but this win certainly left nothing to chance.

Two goals, one at the beginning and one at the end of the first half, from Cathal McNally helped Johnstownbridge overcome a Grange side who made the trip from the south of the county to no avail.

Seniors continue winning ways ahead of championship first round
Johnstownbridge maintaned their good start to the league with a convincing win over Ballymore. With the Punchestown festival soon to be taking place nearby the
Bridge won at a canter leaving the home side very disapointed with their showing. match report.
Meanwhile the B's game against Sarsfields ended in a draw on Wednesday night at 1-07 a piece, whilst the C's fixture had to be called off due the pitch being unplayable.

Bridge record second win of league campaign
Johnstownbridge made it two wins from two in Division 2 with a good perfromance on home soil seeing off Clane. Just as in their league opener Cathal McNally

Great start to the leagues campaign
Johnstownbridge got their league campaign off to a winning start on the plains of the Curragh last Sunday with this convincing win over Moorefield’s second string.
The lads from the Moores will be up against it this year but showed midway through the second half that they can compete.

First senior game of the year
Having trailed for most of the game county U21 man Cathal McNally came off the bench to score 1-2 and earn a hard-fought draw. This was the first game of the year which saw many players unavailable for various reasons. It was a good work out with the final score 1-10 apiece. More....

A great night was had by all on Sunday night when the Camogie club celebrated their 40th anniversary with a presentation to the '69 and '84 Teams. The football girls received their county final medals. Football player of the year awards were won by Senior - Barry McNally, B's - Rusty Maguire, C's - Ger Quinn, U21 - Will Holton and Minor - Des Holton. Congrats to the ladies who showed great determination and heart to win against Kilkenny on Sunday morning having lost in the Senior County Final after extra time on Saturday evening. Busy Day

The Ladies have already won the Intermediate Championship this year and so are aiming for the double (which would be a terrific achievement). Support our Kildare Footballers
All members of the Kildare squad have to raise 3,000 euro in the coming weeks for a training camp and other expenses. Brian and Keith are organising a dinner in Sabayon restaurant on Saturday the 26th of Sepetmber in a bid to raise funds. Tickets are 80 euro and a great night of food and craic is expected. Camogie Junior B's defeat St. Laurence's
A cold evening in Johnstown Bridge, a wet pitch, 18 players and a dog proved too much for the visitors. From the throw in The Bridge were not going to be beaten. The Balyna ladies beat Leixlip by 2-9 to 0-6 in the Senior football championship.
Balyna face St.laurences while Junior B's face Moorefield
The quarter final draw was made last night and the minors face St. laurences on the 9th of September while the Junior B's face Moorefield on the 31st of August.
Senior match fixed for carbury
The Seniors face Monastervein in the 3rd round of the intermediate championship at 6pm on Saturday evening in Carbury.
Last gasp penalty save see's Balyna through
With Balyna winning by 3 and needing a win, Round Towers were awarded a penalty in the last minute of the game. Ed Holton stood firm and pulled off a brilliant save to see Balyna through to the quarter finals with a win 3-16 to 4-10. Well done to all the lads who never gave up and kept coming back.

Johnstownbridge 2-14 Ballyteague 0-13
This game swung in Johnstownbridge�s favour thanks mainly to Ballyteague�s reduction to 14 men for the last quarter of the game. With the ball gone wing-back Kevin Murphy saw red for a striking offence. At that stage the game was very much in the balance with the Bridge having their noses in front by just a point. The Junior C match against Athgarvan will now take place in Allenwood at 7pm on Tuesday evening.
Monasterevin next for Seniors
The seniors have drawn Monasterevin in the 3rd round of the championship. Fixtures will be posted as soon as they are announced.
Seniors qualify with one game to go
The seniors beat Ballyteague by 2-14 to 13 this evening in the Intermediate championship. It was a much tougher match than last week but the lads still stood up well to the challenge.

Championship Results week of 16th of August
The Seniors beat Sallins on Sunday evening in Clane by 2-12 to 0-5, they now face Ballyteague in the next round. Which will take place in Clane at 3PM on Saturday 22nd. The Junior B's went down 2-09 to 1-10 to Raheens in the first round of the championship on Monday. While the Junior C's drew with Castlemitchell and the Minors lost to Clane on Tuesday evening. The next draws for these competitions will take place later this week.
O'Keeffe avoids tough questions
Red O' Keeffe had a close call on Sunday evening when his wedding ring went missing on the pitch in Clane. However he proved that there is life in the old dog yet when he found it again despite the fact that the subs displayed impressive ground sweeping skills at half time and came up with nothing.

On Tuesday night in perfect conditions and in front of a home crowd, JTB squared up to local rivals Clane in the first round of the Kildare Senior Camogie Championship. With both teams having met twice in the league and with honours even, it was always going to be a close call. However, as we were now in the heat of championship the gloves were off and what went before was of little consequence.Match Report
Minors to meet Clane
The draw for the second round of the minor championship see's Balyna pitted against Clane. The game will take place on Tuesday the 18th of August in Kilcock at 7PM.
Win and a hard fought draw in Championship
The Senior Camogie team recorded a win against Clane last night 3-6 to 1-6 in the first round of the Championship. The minors came back to get a hard fought draw against the Celbridge in a very exciting game, which ended 0-14 to 2-8.
Club championship season begins
The club championship begins with the minors facing Celbridge in Clane on Tuesday the 10th of August at 7.30pm. While the seniors season gets under way in Clane at 3pm on Sunday the 16th of August against Sallins. In Camogie the Seniors face Clane on Tuesday the 10th and Celbridge on Saturday the 15th while the Juniors start with Nurney on Sunday the 16th. Next week's Football action see's the B's facing Raheens on Monday 17th and the C's facing Castlemitchell on Tuesday 18th. While in Camogie the Juniors face Moorefield on Tuesday the 18th.
Congratulations to the Ladies
Well done and congratulations to Ashling and Clodagh on their emphatic defeat of Sligo with Kildare on Sunday which puts them into the All-Ireland quarter final. Best of Luck from all in the club in the next round against Cork on the 22nd of August.

Thanks to all those who took part and helped organise the Marriott training weekend draw. Congratulations to St. Kevin's who won 1st prize of a training weekend awat at the Marriott Hotel in Enfield, 2nd prize went to St. Lawrences Camoige club, whilst Doon in Co. Limerick won 3rd prize. Thanks once again to the Marriott who donated the wonderful first prize.

The minors are out against Armagh in Breffni park on Saturday at 2pm so best of luck to Paul Cribbin, Des Holton and Sean Hurley. Whilst the seniors face Tyrone at 4pm in croke park on Sunday. It will be a tough test but we're sure the Flano will be more than up to the challenge.

Injury-time heartbreak for St.Mary's
A last gasp goal from Eanna O'Connor broke St Mary's, Edenderry hearts in the All Ireland Colleges Senior Football A Final. The club lads did us proud on the day including Des Holton, Paul Cribbin and Sean Hurley on the pitch alongside Balyna boys Shane Geoghan, Conor Grehan and Ben Kenny while on the bench were Tom Hickey, Eddie Holton, Jimmy Farrell and Mark Bergin.Match Report....

The clubs annual golf classic will take place on Friday the 15th of May in Knockanally. St.Mary's through to All-Ireland Schools Final
Congratulations to all the Balyna lads that lined out in the All-Ireland Semi Final for St. Mary's in Longford today. The Johnstown lads were led from the back by captain Des Holton whilst Paul Cribbin and Sean Hurley used their combined class up front to do the club proud. Clean Sweep
The seniors defeat of grangenolvan on Saturday 1-13 to 1-10 means a clean sweep for the Bridge in Group C of the Keogh Cup.

Four goals in the opening half of the first game of the season was an ideal way for Johnstownbridge to get things going in 2009. With both sides in heavy training and missing a number of players there would be no point reading too much into this result, but for the Bridge it was a good way to shake off the cobwebs. More....
Johnstown Man lifts the Leinter School's Cup
Well done to all the St.Mary's team who won their first Leinster School's Cup on Saturday 28th of February. Special Congratulations from all in the club go to Team captain Desmond Holton, Paul Cribbin and Sean Hurley who contributed hughely to the final outcome. U16 Johnstown bridge 3-1 v Moorefield 0-0
Johnstownbridge under 16 girls have a spring in their step. On a bright clear Sunday they showed a winning display against Moorefield. In the first half Carol Hurley scored a goal shortly into the game followed by two goals from Lauren Murphy with the help of Emily Blake.More....

On a mild Spring Sunday afternoon the camogie season got underway with the home team Johnstownbridge facing Eire Og. For the first time in two years Johnstownbridge fielded a team in the U16 league. Both teams played a fast and skillful game. The only difference between the two sides proved to be JTB Captain Lauren Murphy.More....
