U12 Division 2 - Final
JTB and Clane contested the Div 2 U12 Camogie final in Eire Og on Sat 24th May at 7pm. It was a very entertaining match, well supported but both teams.
JTB got off to a flying start with a goal from Janet O’Callaghan in the first minute of the game. Clane responded well but were unable to penetrate the Bridge defence of Niamh Lanigan, Shauna Foy and Amy McCann.
Ciara O’Donoghue added the next goal before Rachel Cribben notched up two point’s from free’s. Johnstown Br. went into the break 4 goals and 2 points up thanks to brilliant work by Sally Morrin, Ciara Langley which resulted in Janet O’Callaghan’s hat trick.
Clane came to life at the start of the second half thanks to great play by No 7 Grainne Martin but their progress was halted by a goal from the JTB centre forward Laura Newman.
Outstanding play by JTB Captain Rachel Cribbin and her partner Emily Blake at centre field lead to full forward Janet O’Callaghan notching up 2 more goals for the Bridge.
Clane never gave up and kept pressing the half back line of JTB which was held strong by the great defence of Jessica Quinn, Erin Mc Evoy and Natasha Farrell.
At this stage JTB introduced 4 very young subs who also played their part in this great victory Ciara Mc Evoy, Laura Reilly, Eva Lawlor and Laura O’Callaghan. The last score of the game was a brilliant goal from Rachel Cribbin despite valliant defensive work by Clane’s No 8 Sarah Cribben. The score does not reflect the fact that the game was a very close and hard fought contest.
Well done to both teams!
